Fear Plucking

Magnolia PaintingMatthew 6:27-29

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

Lord Almighty, you know my fears.  I’m afraid of everything! Panic sweeps over me, yet it is so unproductive.  It doesn’t help, prevent or add anything to my day. I know you are in control. But I still worry and fret. I am thankful for Spring.  Thankful for the extra sunlight and extra hours of daylight. Grateful that the darkness grows shorter. Hopeful for blooming flowers as Paxil for my worries. Wrap me in your comfort and joy.  I cast my fears upon your altar.  I lay them down on our journey to the cross!  Amen!
