[ Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus ] Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—… watched for an opportunity to hand him over. Matthew 26:14
As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.” John 13:27
Forgiving Lord, the pain of betrayal is so deep, so painful. How do you love someone who pretends friendship, follows you, pretends to love you and may even try to turn your heart against those who really care?
How do you continue to love Judas?
I know he is part of your greater plan. I know you love him. Your Word clearly says Satan entered him but how were you able to love, nurture and care for him all those years he followed you as your disciple knowing past, present and future. Knowing he was going to hand you over? Did it pierced your heart every time he looked into your eyes? Knowing he would betray you with a kiss????
Forgive me Lord for the times I’ve been angry, when I’m mad you’re not the Lord of my design, when I disagree with your path. Help me Lord to love my enemies as you loved Judas. Help me to confess how I’ve also betrayed your trust, love and confidence. Help me to lay my sins openly at the foot of your cross. Amen Lord!
